IMPORTANT DATES:

Please mark your family calendar for these important and fun events which will raise funds and help organize our team!

November 11, 2008, Monday night (into Tuesday), Galactic Bowling, midnight to 2 a.m.: Galactic Bowling at Yankee Lanes, 867 Riverside St., Portland. (Note no school on Tuesday 11/11). Tickets $12 for two hours of bowling, including shoes. ALL are welcome - invite your friends from school and family members. This is a great opportunity for team members to get to know each other while having a fun time, and the team will receive half the proceeds from the door.

November 17 and 20, 2008, Tuesday and Thursday, All Robotics Parent Meetings: Please plan to attend either one of your choice.
~ Gorham High School: Monday 11/17/08, 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.
~ Falmouth High School: Thursday 11/20/08, 7:00 pm in the ATM room off the library.

December 2, 2008, Tuesday, Dinner at O'Naturals, 4 - 8 p.m.: Encourage your friends and family to drop by the Falmouth O'Naturalsfor dinner and Team 172 will receive 10% of all sales during that time. The team will also have an informational table set up to inform the community of the FIRST Robotics program. (Students, please get in touch with Nancy Porter if you'd like to earn fundraising hours by working this table).

January 3, 2009, Saturday, FIRST Robotics "Kick Off": All team meeting to watch the introduction of this year's game challenge, and begin brainstorming our robot. 

January 4, 2009, Sunday, Brainstorming and Design session for new robot.

February 26-28, 2009, Thursday - Saturday, FIRST Robotics Regional Competition: Manchester, NH. This is a spectator event. Everyone will want to come to support the team. Family members who have not been involved in the building will enjoy Friday and Saturday the most.

Announcements - Find it here first!

Here are some of the job opportunities that are available to team members. Everyone will be asked to "apply" for a job at the Pot Luck supper. The orientation will help new members understand what all of these jobs are, and either do what they love, or find a new interest.

Parents are also a part of our team, and usually become mentors for students other than their own. It's a fun and interesting time for all.

Meetings throughout the season: During the build season, most of January and February, there were meetings every day. The robot shipped on time on Tuesday, February 19. The link to the event Web site is http://www.baesystemsfirst.org/regional.
